Educational video initiative

Educational video initiative

With the launch of our new website in 2019, we are proud to announce a new initiative – educational videos!

This is an idea that has been in the works for some time, and we are determined to have it brought to fruition by the end of the year.

For many women who are diagnosed with early breast cancer, it is the first time they have had to deal closely with the disease. Even though breast cancer is extremely common, specifics of the disease and details of treatment options aren’t common general knowledge. Our aim in producing these videos is to provide patients and their families with a general understanding of breast cancer in the period between initial diagnosis and their first specialist appointment. We hope that this will educate and empower patients in these initial stages and allow them to feel more involved and less overwhelmed during their initial consultation.

At this stage, this initiative is very much in its infancy. We invite all patients, family members and medical practitioners to contribute to the development of the content by providing us with comments and suggestions as to what material it would be most beneficial to cover, in particular

  • Any information you feel may have been beneficial to know during this period, medical or otherwise.
  • Any common misconceptions you may have had regarding breast cancer or its treatment that could be addressed.

If you have any ideas and would like to get in touch, please contact the clinic by completing the contact form on the contact us page of the website.

Our ambition is to release these videos publicly so that all patients and families can benefit, and to update them as necessary to reflect the current Australian breast cancer treatment guidelines.
