The following is a list of beneficial resources for breast cancer patients and their families. If you have any medical questions or concerns, please contact us or discuss these with your doctor.

 

Provides support and information to patients and families about diagnosis and treatment. This website contains information as well as access to an online community forum. BCNA also offers a Helpline (1800 500 258) where you can speak to a qualified cancer nurse.

This is a relatively new online tool developed by BCNA and contains a large amount of information which can be tailored to your stage in the treatment process. The information is regularly reviewed and updated by BCNA.

The QLD Cancer Council website contains more general information about a wider range of cancer types. They also have an online support community and run a telephone information and support service on 13 11 20.

The Wesley Choices Centre is a supportive environment for individuals going through a cancer diagnosis, as well as their loved ones. Support services include; access to cancer nurses, support groups, physiotherapy, counsellors, nutritionists and complementary therapies. They are located at the Wesley Hospital and welcome visitors during business hours and calls to their toll-free number, 1800 227 271.

Mummy’s wish is a charity organisation for women diagnosed with cancer who have children aged 12 or younger. They focus on providing practical support tailored to the individuals needs whilst they undergo treatment. Mummy’s wish also hosts a closed online facebook group for social support.
